In our educational program, we share Christ with children, youth and adults.
At Good Shepherd we share our lives with each other in various fellowship and growing activities. We have vital fellowship, youth, drama, Bible study and worship programs.
Good Shepherd supports a Children's Center that operates five days a week. This Children's Center seeks to provide Christian care and concern for children from 2 1/2 to 5 years of age. It includes a nursery program and extended day care as well as a full day Kindergarten.
As Lutherans we administer the Sacraments of Baptism and the Lord's Supper according to Christ's institution and command. We believe that through these humble acts, God offers and seals the forgiveness of sins, eternal life, and salvation to all believers.
Our preaching and teaching is the Gospel - the Good News of Salvation through our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. We believe that He has redeemed the world from sin, death and the devil, and that we receive forgiveness of sins and eternal life as a gift of God through faith in Jesus Christ.
In our worship services there is a definite form of worship which is called liturgy. We see - through the colors on the altar, the order of worship, the vestments worn by Pastor and the Deacons - the fact that Jesus Christ is foremost in our life. These can aid worship to become what we believe it is - the main event in the life of a Christian so that we can be fueled in our faith as we live it in the world. We believe that these outward things add reality and dignity to our life of worship together.
