Where Can I Serve?

Each one should use whatever gift that has been received to serve others faithfully, administering God's grace in its various forms.

1 Peter 4:10

Opportunities for service come in a wide range of interests and specialties. Good Shepherd has been blessed with the talents and gifts of many members who lend their abilities to enhance the worship service, serve on committees, assist the Sunday School and Vacation Bible School with teaching and creative skills, and work on the governing board of the congregation. Our service is a response to the Great Commission, "Go into all the world and preach the good news to all creation." We firmly believe every person is blessed with a unique capacity to serve. We welcome you to take an active role in the ministry we call Good Shepherd - your talents and gifts are valued by us in service to our Lord.

The following are areas for service where you can become an active part of Good Shepherd's ministry. We pray you will find one that speaks to you and you will feel moved to respond to it. We welcome your gifts of time and talent. You may volunteer to serve in any of these areas.

The Administrative Board and Committees

The Administrative Board is the governing body of our congregation. It currently consists of 7 members who are elected by the congregation. The Pastor is considered and ex-officio member of the Board.

Service as a committee chairperson is for a two-year term. A committee member can serve for any length of time. Your help and input are always welcome, either as a regular committee member or as a consultant.

The council committees are: Christian Outreach, Missions, Stewardship, Children's Center Board of Education, Parish Education/Youth, Family Life/Fellowship, Worship and Music, and Building and Grounds.
