Norman Johnson

Norman Johnson Reverend Doctor Norman L. Johnson was Pastor of Good Shepherd from March of 1977 through November of 2004, when he retired. He graduated from Concordia Seminary with a Master of Divinity Degree in June of 1966, and received his Doctor of Ministry Degree from Drew University in May of 1993.

He was ordained at his home congregation - St. John's in Cleveland, OH, and began his ministry at St. Matthew's Lutheran Church, Lexington, MI. In 1968, he accepted a call to serve as Pastor of St. John's in Hoboken, NJ, and in 1973, he accepted a call to be Pastor of Grace Lutheran in Jersey City, NJ, - beginning the first dual-parish ministry in the NJ District. While there, he was Circuit Counselor for four years and Vice-President of the District for one year. While serving at Good Shepherd, he was widely involved in the community, serving as Hospice Chaplain and as Chaplain for the Old Bridge Fire Company of East Brunswick.

Reverend Johnson is married to Georgeann and they have five children and ten grandchildren. They now live in North Carolina.
